Projects

I'm always working on new projects and websites, whether it be for work or past time. I love keeping up to date with the latest technology trends and designs.
Here's a small selection of some of my previous projects.

MinSay.Com

MinSay.Com MinSay.Com MinSay, short for "Minimal Say" is a light weight, cross platform compatible discussion web application written entirely in JavaScript and PHP. MinSay will run on any browser, on practically any device. It is iPad, iPhone, Android, Symbian etc compatible.

I got the idea for MinSay whilst doing freelance work, constantly bouncing emails back and forwards between each other. I didn't want the clients to have my personal Instant Messenger account details, nor did I wan't them on my Skpe contact list contacting me every few minutes.
Using an existing "chat" room on the web just seemed unprofessional, and most free existing chat room sites appeared to target younger teens with video chat, excessive smileys etc. They also all seemed to be in Flash.
I decided to write my own, using compliant technology such as JavaScript and CSS. The result would be a cross browser / cross platform compatible web application that people could use for discussion on PC and mobile devices.

SoundPunk.Com

An audio engineering community I founded in 2006, with over 2,800 registered members, we have various professionals from the music industry who offer advice and contribute to the site.

User's are encouraged to share their music and get feedback from other members of the community.
We hold regular remix competitions and arrange agreements with small record labels to have the winning tracks signed as a prize.

TheMonitoringGuy.Com

TheMonitoringGuy.Com Having worked for the past 4 years building monitoring systems for the banking sector in Sydney, Iv become known as "The Monitoring Guy" around the office.
I started a blog to post all the little tips and tricks I come across in my daily work, and wrote a few small specialized articles.
The content is generally around utility programming, scripting and dashboards.

IT Dashboards

My day job for the past few year has been to develop business and IT dashboard for Lloyds International, prior to that I did a similiar job for the Commonwelth Bank Of Australia.
The job involved writing integrations for various platforms and creating adapters to stream the data into my monitoring systems, applying thresholds and triggers to the incoming event stream.

All this data needs to represented in a clean and intuitive way. This is my speciality. The dashboards I built ranged from high level business views to low level engineering reports.

The dashboards were displayed on large LCD Television screens around the various offices.

Freelance Work

Outside of my day job and past times, I also do a fair bit of freelance work, designing web pages and graphics for various small companies and individuals. I'm experienced in most of the open source content management and blogging platforms out there, working frequently with:
  • Joomla
  • Wordpress
  • Simple Machines Forum
  • vBulletin
  • phpBB
  • Invision Power Communities
